Buddy is like a big puppy. He LOVES attention. He'd be happy to fall asleep with you petting him all day. He is very well mannered and does not act 'study' at all when I take him places. He had his first foal on the ground in early 2010. We are expecting up to 5 more in 2011.
I just LOVE this guy! I am so excited about seeing some foals from him!! I had looked everywhere for this color, with these bloodlines. I had to go to Missouri to get him as a weanling. It was worth every mile!
We are starting him under saddle. We did some at the first of the year, then it got just way too hot here in the summer. We will begin working him again once it cools off some more. He was always so good. Even the first time we sat on him and walk, trot and cantered in the round pen, he never bucked. He such an easy horse to work with. He is smart and very athletic, quick on his feet and responsive. He wants to learn and to be soft and supple.
The pedigree on this guy is just amazing!!! He has awesome lines (many sevreal times over)!! Smart Chic Olena, Doc Bar, Peppy San Badger, Sugar Bars, Sugar Joe Reed, Doc O'Lena, Three Bars, Yellow Jacket, Old DJ, Voltaire, Galopin, Peter McCue, Joe Reed, King, Joe Reed II, Traveler, Leo, Leo San, Sam Watkins, Tommy Clegg, Oklahoma Star, Percentage, Royal Smart, Peppy San, Smart Peppy, Smart Little Lena, Poco Lena, Sheilwin, Gay Sugar Chic, Gay Bar King, Docs Poco Tianna, Wimpy, Cotton Pikin Peppy, Steel Dust, Zantanon and including the lines of Waggoner and Blackburn and many more!!
His dam is a APHA 15.3 hand Dun Homozygous Tobiano and his sire is an AQHA 15 hand Palomino. He has a baby doll head and big muscular rear end. Great confirmation with a short back, straight hocks, and all around gorgeous body! He will sire guaranteed dilute colorered foals! Only Palominos, Buckskins, Cremellos, Perlinos, Smokey Black, Smokey Cream when bred to non-grey mares. Only difference with Grey mares, is there is 50% chance of the foal turning grey. Palomino 100% of the time when bred to Chestnut/Sorrel. Incredible pedigree and gorgeous color to boot!! Guaranteed!! You just can't go wrong with this Who's Who pedigree and color! It is genetically impossible for him to sire any sorrel/chestnut, black or bay foals. All stallions are handled by my husband and I, so they have to be well mannered and respectful at all times. They are not allowed to 'manhandle' us or the mares.
Note: Back shoes must be removed before bringing your mare for breeding.
Here is a few more pictures I took, just playing around at home. He did NOT get a bath or get shaved before, so he is a bit dirty. Horses are animals and love to roll in the dirt. He is 3 1/2 years old in these pictures.
